Having recently graduated from the University of Worcester with an Integrated Masters in MTheatre Touring Theatre, Drama & Performance, JR Theatre Productions was born. Aiming to make original, devised digital and live theatre with a social conscience. Exploring serious and challenging subjects which utilise autobiographical or real-life material, JR Theatre Productions often use comedy, movement and music to raise awareness and give a voice to those unheard.
Jen Roehrig of JR Theatre Productions has a background in classical music and dance. As a teenager, she played the flute in many youth orchestras and performed in local choirs and dance troupes in and around the South East of England. Having had a multitude of non-arts-based roles in the years following, she took the plunge in 2017 to follow her heart back into the arts and has not looked back. Her performance credits include roles in Dennis Kelly’s DNA (Jan), Somewhere Waiting for Me (ensemble) and most recently, Vermin (multiple roles), which was commissioned and written specifically for the University of Worcester by Vikki Stone. Additionally, Jen co-wrote, developed and starred in the short musical, Wednesday.
More recently, Jen wrote, directed, produced, filmed and appeared in her first ever solo production. Part autobiographical, the digital theatre piece, And.Breathe.Repeat had its successful world premiere debut at the Brighton Fringe Festival 2021. Currently, Jen is working on adapting the piece for the stage.
